Flood
When I was getting ready to move to Colorado people told me that I would know I was living in Colorado when I quit making rain plans.
The weather supposedly runs on a predictable schedule here.
Well, it has been exactly the opposite since I arrived.
It's been abnormally hot. Hotter than it is in NC at this time.
And then it started to rain.
I think it's rained almost every day for the past month.
And recently it started raining A LOT.
Colorado can't handle this.
There have been flash floods across the state.
Towns have been destroyed.
People have died.
Homes have been lost.
It is a heartbreaking mess.
I took this photo at an evacuee site.
The woman on the left is showing her former neighbor pictures from their town, which basically no longer exists.
She showed me a picture of rubble and said "look, here's our town, a mile and a half down the road from where it used to be."
