BLOOM ing
Not a lot of blooms in photogenic state in my yard but I went down to our beautiful small town library tonight to pick up a copy of Searching For Sugarman (very highly recommended by fellow blippers, (especially Kendall) and was greeted by many blooms.
This little library came after many long battles with the town for funding to build a new library. They had more than outgrown their old building and as it was on the banks of a river with very little land around it, there was no more room for expansion. It seems the library committee could not get the two thirds vote necessary to get the town to build (the disadvantages of no broad-based taxes in New Hampshire and getting everything approved at town meeting once a year). So some very dedicated trustees did their own fundraising and grant writing and were able to build it on their own. I believe the land was donated and is still along the river, a little further upstream. It is a beautiful spot with many cozy little places to sit and read and there is classroom space for the many children's and adult programs they are now able to offer.
Now I am looking forward to watching the movie.
