First Fall Rehearsal
After our summer break with no regular band rehearsals and concerts, it is good to get back to a fall schedule of playing and rehearsing. So here we are back at rehearsals and ready to go. I took this shot while the director was explaining something. I had to snap fast as we don't have any breaks in our 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. practice and playing time and no one wants to pose or line up for a picture afterwards. So this is pretty candid. I may try for a planned picture of the trombone section the week after this one. They have neat new t shirts and it could be a good shot.
BUT
When I got home after rehearsal that night I was going to download and send my blip and be on time for once. For some reason I could not get the pictures to down load from my little memory chip or from the cord and it was too late at night to fiddle around with it, so I gave up. The next day, yes, Friday the 13th I still could not get it to work. I did not even take a picture on the 13th. Boohoo. That night my husband suggested I use his camera to download and it worked. I still did not get them entered on blip. Waa. The next morning, Saturday, we put the crab pots in. nothing happened. Sunday, Fritz went down to the beach to do some work and I stayed up at the house for awhile, planning to go down when it was time to get the crab pots. I was getting boots and gear ready to take to the beach when Fritz called me on the two way radio to tell me there were three common loons out swimming around near where he was working. I should get down there quick with my camera and maybe I could get a picture of them. They are so spectacular and when in close you can see all their markings. I really want to get their picture. They would make a great blip for the day. We boated around on the water for a while watching the loons but could never get close enough for a picture. Finally we gave up, pulled the crab pots and came in. sob, sob. sob. there is no picture for Friday the 13th. That's why this story posted on the 12th is so long. and there are pictures for the 14th and 15th of lots of sea gulls.
