Stirring up a stew
We went to the Ludlow Food Fest today which was held in the castle grounds .
Mr Toad filled his rucksack up from various stalls with sausages, black pudding & cheese.
We came across this stall manned by Army chefs who were doing a very tasty beef & red wine stew all cooked in the Soyer field stove as seen in the blip.
It was invented by a French Chef Alexis Benoist Soyer for use in the Crimea war by the British Army and was still being used by the soldiers 120 years later.
