A Place to Cycle

Aye, today it was. Compared to Saturday's opening day at least.

It was a totally different atmosphere around the new Helix Park today. Very quiet, or maybe just felt that way as it covers such a big space and any people inside were spread around more thinly, but certainly had loads of room to cycle on wide silky smooth paths, with only the odd dog running loose off its lead to watch out for. Joggers, roller bladers and boarders taking advantage of the tracks too despite the biting wind.

There's a nice little circuit around the boating lake that's ripe for a Strava segment (didn't set one up today, was too bloody windy as you can see from this cyclist's head-down-straight-into-it riding position), but will be back for a bit of a blast around and a further explore some point soon.
