Drawing Pictures in the Sand and writing messages

When I was wee I loved the pencil sharpeners on the teachers desk. Not electronics ones, but the ones you clamped the pencil into the hole, and then you spin the handle and it sharpened your pencil.

I could sharpen my pencils down to about 2 inches long quite happily.

Even more than that, I loved it if my dad sharpened my pencils. Dad had a Stanley knife which normally he used for cutting cables, being an electrician, but some nights he would use that sharp blade to sharpen the pencils for me.

I would go to school with a long lead and carved up looking pencil. I loved that. And look what I did today! I've managed to procure myself a blade all of my own and today I gave my pencil a wee trim all of my own.

I think maybe I will keep hold of this blade. Himself says I can't cut my hair any more - says it is the first sign of madness :-) (And he's only just noticed)
