All plans for today overturned. Steve was to pick up Ben and friends from airport after their American road trip and take a photo for my blip. In the interim, phone call from Jody and Aafke from Barcelona telling us they'd got engaged at the language school where they'd met quite a few years ago. Absolute joy - I love Aafke and couldn't ask for a sweeter, more thoughtful daughter-in-law. But of course this meant I had to abandon my 2 day a week fast diet and toast them in fizzy wine.
