Today, I had the incredible pleasure of taking photographs as my good friend, Robert, proposed to his beautiful girlfriend (now fiancé!), Paris. I have heard Robert talk about and plan this day for months, and it was such a blessing to be able to be a part of something so wonderful. So much thought and love went into each detail....
A pathway was created from candles, rose petals, and stones. Across a collection of bricks, Robert wrote a passage of scripture, Ephesians 5:22-33, which provides instructions for a Godly marriage. Each brick was placed carefully along the path. When the setup was complete, family and friends gathered along the edge of the beach and watched and waited as Robert led Paris, blindfolded, to the pathway. When he removed her blindfold, he guided her through the path as they read from the bricks together while a friend played the guitar softly. At the end was a circle of candles, where he spoke to her about their love and future, so intimately that even I couldn’t hear from a few feet away. Then, he knelt down on one knee and proposed. She said yes; he slipped the ring on her finger, and the crowd of loved ones rushed over to congratulate two very special people.
What a blessing to be a part of something so wonderful. It was difficult to choose just one picture from an event where every moment was so special. Please, view the collection of images from the day and see the story for yourself here.
I love love.
God is good.
