Stood Up

I should know better than to arrange to meet His Lordship for coffee without making doubly sure we are both speaking about the same cafe, and ensuring that he will have his mobile phone with him switched on.

I only wish we had a transcript of the original conversation that took place about the arrangements for the rendezvous, to happen after my meet up with Glasgow daughter as she arrived in Edinburgh by train this morning for a meeting.

Suffice it to say we were both stood up, about 2 miles apart, he in his cafe and I in mine. Neither of us is best pleased.

I am looking forward to the day improving with a visit to my friend-of-many-talents, but come to think of it, I'd better phone to make sure she'll be there.

Edit: Oh no, it seems to be some sort of holiday in Edinburgh and she's otherwise engaged. Not my day!
