Arms and legs

The 5am start to see the submarines at low tide didn't happen. Mostly because I didn't set the alarm but partly because Autumn arrived spectacularly.

So, I was delighted when I got a call from Mrs S to day she was getting an earlier train and I could go into Sunday Autumn mode. The brisket was rubbed, marinaded and slid into the oven, the vegetables were chopped and put into a pan and the wood burning stove was lit. So, by late morning the house was smelling great and Cerys was playing some oddly beguiling 1930s jazz music and all was well with the world.

The whippet obviously grabbed pole position in front of the fire but Ruby was a close second. As the whippet had just wolfed down some tripe followed by green beans and carrots I think Ruby was particularly brave getting her head down that end.

We all went to the train station again and the only downer on the day was that Mrs S had her favourite leather jacket stolen while she was away.
