the lake of stars....

Lake Malawi is known as the lake of stars locally, mainly due to the way it sparkles with the bright sunlight. This morning I went to watch the fishermen come in with their catch having been out in the dugout canoes all night.

Unfortunately the catch was poor and there was little to show for their efforts. There were many people coming to look for fish, many malnourished children running around too. I took many pictures but this one of the small boy on a log in the early morning sunlight is my favourite of the day. I always feel so privileged to be allowed to enter into these peoples' lives...........

I have back blipped for the last two days - I was in a place with no internet access and it was great to be free and relax! Please have a look if you have time!

And.....for those of you who have been asking about my trip to Ireland - it is something I have to do every 2 years as part of my job - I hope to return in January 2014.........and I hope to keep blipping from Ireland!!
