Volunteers

Not sure of the identification of this plant. An abandoned house near my home here in central North Carolina has a stand of these seemingly volunteers along the road side at the front of the overgrown yard. I think it's the Zigzag Spiderwort. Got no idea as to whether is considered a weed or an actual flower to be prized and cultivated. Anyways, it's got a nice bloom in the early morning light.
