Queen Nefertiti
We've been told there is a strong storm blowing in today (the first of the autumn) so I've decided to have an indoors day... apart from feeding the birds and picking another jug full of ripe tomatoes. This is a cross stitch portrait of Queen Nefertiti that I embroidered many years ago, before arthritis made stitching too painful for me. Nefertiti was the Great Royal Wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten - she was supposed to be very beautiful and she died aged just 40 years old. Please excuse the reflections in the glass, I couldn't get the room dark enough to avoid them.
