Hazy hills
Not much time for photos today - this view of the Organ Mountains was taken while waiting at road works to widen the road to Teresopolis. The old town has been largely overtaken by unsightly modern 'development'and many shanty towns, but the surroundings are magnificent - that being the word the Brazilian emperor used to describe it in the 1800s. At one point, large areas of it were owned by a so-called Englishman (from Portugal), George March, and the wide central valley, where he raised horses and mules for the Rio market, reputedly resembled an English park - albeit a park with jaguars.
