"Doris"

I met Doris today for the first time for ages. She is a kind caring and gentle lady. She used to have coffee at church with my mum and me for years and we always had a chat about her life and her sister who lived with her and was slowly becoming hard to live with as she had dementia. Doris broke her leg about the time that mum was moved to rehab after her accident and she was so patient with mum and sat and read to her in hospital not knowing if mum could understand or hear. It was good to know Doris was around mum as we always knew there was someone to spend time with her after visiting. She used to sit and chat to mum about things they'd talked about on Friday mornings when mum was well.

Doris went home after rehab and we all missed her very much but I still see her out and about and we catch up with her life and ours.

Her sister is now in a nursing home in Macclesfield and is in the advanced stages of dementia, I know she does the same when she visits her, talks about old times, good times and she will radiate love and caring and kindness.

Doris is that sort of person, thats why I love her and thats why her and mum got on so well :)
