Boat Blips Blues
It has been a lovely day, still officially summer so I guess a late summer sun day. I was not really motivated today, I didn't really sleep, the aches growing as the night wore on, stiff and sore this morning, particularly my shoulder.
I went to the garage to have the damage to the car assessed as I drove, a favourite playlist evoking thoughts so pleasant "I smile out loud" I saw a horse box coming towards me on the opposite side of the carriageway, familiar, older but the same lorry I had driven so many many times over the years, it had at one time belonged to my father. I had very mixed emotions when I saw it and in the words of the song the smile had left my eyes. The lorry passed and with a brief look back in my rear-view to watch her go I turned up my music and pt it from my mind, funny how a lorry can throw you so...
I continue to ache but took a short trip to the river for I had no enthusiasm to shoot today still a very blue mood underlying the smiles of my friends playlist.
I have looked at this boat hundreds of times a Fisher 32, the type of boat I dreamed of owning one day; I liked the idea of sailing away never looking back exploring the works, learning fro the university of life and the experiences she delivers. I was inspired by a book I was given, a beautiful book my great aunt Minnie brought from Canada, when she came home to visit, it was called "The Boy Who Sailed Around The World Alone" the story of Robin Lee Graham who as a boy of 16 left everything he knew in a 30ft sloop to do just that, sail single handed around the world. His story was picked up by Narional Geographic and as such the plates in the book are stunning and transported me to the exotic places described.
I am not much of a yachtsman, having sailed wayfarers and lasers but never anything bigger but i did enjoy it. I knew this was an emergency blip but needs must, I hope you enjoy the shot and i suspect best in large
