Catching the Light

My girl returned from Berlin yesterday. She and her friends were feeling very proud of themselves having made all the plans and done and seen more than they had hoped.

It's a very different girl who is now getting ready to leave us again and return for her second year at University. I am just a little proud of all that she has achieved this summer, although I could have done with her cooking my tea once or twice! The four months have whizzed by and despite our holiday last week I feel a need to keep her close for the next few days and to soak up anything and everything she offers.

As the sun cast it's shadows through the blinds and onto the wall today she basked in the heat, contemplating all that needs to be sorted. Tomorrow we will go through to clean her room and make a start on it looking more comfortable.

My boy was playing football in the afternoon. I do love to watch, although I found myself getting too involved when the bad tackles went in. It's always a fight with this team and today there was an actual battle! Passions run so high and the game means everything to them. We managed a resounding win which only tipped the opposition over the edge. My boy finds it a particular challenge that he plays half the game beside the opposition touchline - the parents watching are less than complimentary. Thank goodness I can't hear them.
