Here be dragons

Dragon boating today with the AWCD (see our team here) at the Mülheimer Drachenboot-Festival.

There were so many teams taking part that our first race (which was THE first race) was at 8:30, then every ten minutes there was a race until at 12 we got to go again with the first race of the second heats, and this was just the 'fun' teams, tomorrow is the turn of the profis and the school kids.

The weather was disgusting, cool and wet, ensuring that we got thoroughly soaked - last year when we went for a looksee we sat out and had lunch, able to enjoy the late September sun, no chance this year.

I didn't see these guys in action but as we left they were certainly getting into the spirit of things, singing and dancing along to 'Sweet Home Alabama' being played by the duo who are hidden by the mullets.

And I'm doing it all again in October at the Kettwig regatta, pink wig next month though.
