Tyto Alba

Also known as the Barn Owl. This beautiful little owl was one of the birds of prey featured at the Highland Cattle show today. I tried to capture her in flight but she was far too quick for me. She is about 17 weeks old and is still being trained - she seemed pretty good to me as she circled the field and then came back to the sound of the falconer's voice. He told us that owls were much in demand now to fly in to a wedding ceremony carrying the wedding rings. I suppose you would have to check in advance that no guests were frightened of birds.
