Fountains Abbey

A Cistercian Monastery founded in 1132 situated near Ripon in North Yorkshire and part of Studley Royal Park. There is also a corn mill built by the monks which still has many original features.

Apparently the abbey operated for over 400 years when Henry Vlll ordered the Dissolution of Monasteries Act.

A beautiful blue sky morning, just right for a walk round the grounds and nearby lakes, lots of opportunities for pics.
