Will Britain suffer from powercuts in the next dec
The lead article in this week's Economist warns of a 'supply crunch' in Britains electricity generation capacity, and a dangerous reliance on foreign gas.
With many nuclear power stations due to close over the next decade, and the flow of North Sea gas rapidly decreasing, we could be seeing blackouts somewhere between 2013 and 2016.
With opposition to new nuclear power stations and Britain's commitment to climate change targets we will inevitably become dependant on gas supplies from Russia.
