just a trifle

I have already blipped odd cakes this week under the challenges Silly and Cake, so scraping the bottom of the freezer for today's blip.

So why would I store this Odd Cake in there? Well the story behind it is that the middle of a large bought flan case fitted perfectly into the bottom of a springform tin to make an even light base for a gorgeous blackcurrant mousse cake (inset).

What to do with those flan cake edges? Sounds like a trifle one day. Not exactly my favourite dessert, but waste not, want not.
