The aftermath of the storm continues. I was very lucky to get my power back on so soon. Many people in our district have to wait until Tuesday, a week after the storm, because there are so many repairs to do. The Council has provided a waste food depot so that they can dispose of the food from their fridges and freezers. This must be devastating. Country people keep well stocked freezers. Mine is crammed with homemade meals and preserves. Farmers often have large quantities of meat after they have had a beast or two butchered.
