Mr and Mrs Bollas

Mike and Tulla, owners of the rooms where we stayed for the last week.

Mike is 83 and Tulla is 76, and we communicated mostly by miming. The miming led to some misunderstandings - Tulla perplexed me initially by assuring me she was 56, an age which I am rapidly approaching. I wasn't sure whether to be shocked that we were about the same age, or to congratulate myself on being a bit less weathered than her.

They are parents to Chris, the economist, and George, the doctor. When I produced my camera, they insisted that I include their own photos of their sons, of whom they are very proud.
