The Legend Returns

Scunthorpe United finally righted a huge wrong by resigning Mr Scunthorpe United on loan yesterday.

Cliff Byrne was our captain right through the glory years of 2005 -2011, as we rose from League Two to the Championship. After nine years at the club he was shoved out the door in 2012 by then manager Alan Knill, a move which angered many fans.

Footballers are rightly criticised for having no loyalty to clubs and fans these days (yes, I am looking at you Luis Suarez) and this is just one of the reasons why Cliff is such a legend at our club. He is a model professional who gives 100% in every game he plays, shouts his love of our club from the rooftops and loves to socialize with the fans. Thank you Brian Laws for bringing him back.
