Barbeque
We don’t really know who we are, or what we are, or what we could be until we see ourselves, and the things that matter to us through the eyes of someone else. This is what I feel every single day that I write Blip, and I can only thank everyone that takes the time out of their day to read it.
It was decided by us, and backed up by our manager that we should not run Kids Club due to contagion issues…I mean, we might not be contagious, as neither Jim nor Jemma are ill but we really don’t want to make any children ill on perhaps their only weeks holiday abroad for the year! No rest for the wicked however, as we had to tidy our reception and living area, and cleaned on-site so another van is prepared in case we have another unscheduled arrival (well, you never know…we’ve already had two so far this season!)
Our entire afternoon and evening was spent visiting everyone and sorting all those little problems that come out of the woodwork every week. I have absolutely no idea how many light bulbs I have changed over this season, or how many fire alarm batteries! A very lovely family invited us to join them for a drink, which was soon extended to staying for their barbeque…with them very nicely preparing some non-meat things for Thom. Ended up staying the entire evening with them, and Thom fixed their youngest child’s bike, which had a little trouble with the brakes. When someone does invite you to share a meal with them, it really is appreciated, as it is not something you expect…and you really can get close to a family very quickly if they do that for it. I liked the shadows contrasting against the colours of the flowers…you can see one of our carefully cleaned parasol’s shadow just on the night hand side!
