Cupid

Meet Steve. The person who, inadvertently, engineered my first meeting with Spokes - which, as Spokes reminded me the other day, was exactly a year ago this week.

It was to be another 6 months before our second meeting - which was equally unexpected and equally memorable - but it seems fitting that we should meet up with Steve again tonight - along with a bunch of other fine folk - at MelloMello, a mere few hundred yards/metres from where my first conversation with Spokes took place.

Steve's a piano teacher, reader, writer, blogger and self-confessed radical pedagogue - amongst many other things - and there's not much he can't tell you about an impressively eclectic range of subjects including newsreaders (ancient and modern), diesel trains, the more obscure records of Nina Simone and the works of W. G. Sebald.

Thanks, Steve, for playing Cupid!

(I like the light and shadow in this shot.)

A very big thank you for all the support that's come my way regarding my decision to take my 'bliptime' down a few gears for a while. You really are a wonderful bunch - which is precisely why I find it so difficult not to spend time commenting or replying to comments at the moment.

But... by spending 30 minutes or so a day looking at your pictures, awarding stars and hearts as usual but not commenting, I've managed to free up 2 or 3, much needed, extra hours a day in which to keep up with work and still have some time in which to rest and play!

I really hope to be back making some comments in a few weeks when things calm down a little but, in the meantime, I'll keep posting pictures as and when... And I'll keep sending love out to the blipperverse! xx
