Rubble to Riches

This is the site of the old Rolls-Royce East Works factory in Filton, Bristol. The site was demolished several years ago with the intention of selling on for development and to enable investment in the remaining site, some of which can be seen to the left of the big pile of rubble.

In the early 1980s over 13,000 employees were resident at the Bristol site and this has now dwindled to less than 5,000. Having said that, the company's share price has done extremely well in recent, challenging times and, despite not finding a buyer for the old site, it has translated at least some of that rubble to riches.
