The Basilica of Saint Francis

Spent the day at Assisi on our own pilgrimage from church to monument to basilica to visitas all around and really relished the mix of people, cultures, and accents. The greatest melting pot we have seen in Italy. People come from everywhere; St. Francis' message resonates: "Slow down your step and be joyful, oh pilgrim."
