My first sewing lesson
I had my first sewing lesson today.
After my attempts at dressmaking a few weeks ago, it was clear to me that I needed some structured guidance because I want to do it well. On the internet, I found a lady who teaches beginners.
Even though I was really looking forward to her class, I didn't sleep well at all last night. I'm a bit nervous about stuff like that.
Anyway, nothing to worry about - the lady was lovely, and this week it was just the two of us. Next week, another lady will be joining the class.
The 3 hours went so quickly! I made this little bag, to put my first zip into. She also taught me to buttonhole 2 ways, and how to sew on a button using the sewing machine. She also showed me how to use a Burda pattern book and how to cut out a pattern from it. I enjoyed every minute.
Next week, I have to make a garment that fastens with either buttons or a zip.
