Does this look trivial?
On the left there is one sesame seed, on the right, a tick (Ixodes ricinus).
In May I felt low and thought that I had overdone things. The following weekend I fell ill and sought medical advice; on my leg was a red ring and the doctor suspected Cellulitis with inflammation of connective tissue.
I started a ten day course of antibiotics.
The ring did not fade and I still felt sick and tired, so I returned to the doctor who prescribed more of the same Antibiotic.
When I finished this course at the end of June, the red ring - which had faded, quickly reappeared and began spreading further up my leg.
I went to the doctor again, this time he suspected a tick bite. He ordered blood tests and the results were positive with high levels of antibodies.
Different antibiotics were prescribed which clearly started to work after just a couple of days, this course of drugs is ongoing until mid October.
At least it's been an interesting time, when exhausted there's been a lot of meditation - which is always good and while my physical health has, in general improved, the tiredness caused by the drugs is sometimes overwhelming.
When I met Sergey on Tuesday, he said to me "just follow the river, sometimes it flows slowly, sometimes faster - just accept this condition."
I live now, I'm not waiting for my life to change. It has been a gift and I have learned how to eat even healthier, how to avoid my stomach getting upset from all this medication.
It has been a good exercise.
