Good fun

I spent almost all day yesterday rotavating this chunk of our garden. We hired a monster rotavator from the lovely boys at CDM Hérèpian. It pulled so hard I couldn't grip it with my hands so I fashioned a harness and attached myself to the machine so I could use my (ample) body weight to hold it back. But it chugged and dug for five hours and I was thrilled with the results.

This morning I got up early to rake and clear the bed of stones, then set to planting the first fifty of these plants. There are just another seventy one to go in tomorrow afternoon and it'll be done. I'm hoping it's going to look great in a couple of years' time.
