It's Thursday! It's the weekend. Finished my class this morning and took my first quiz. Believe I did fine and knew everything I needed to so thats good. I saw this pretty little lamp hanging in one of the cut outs of a stone wall that fenced in a house on my walk home after class this morning. I really like how these lamps just hang all over Amman in different ways.

My Arabic class has been split up again and people have been placed in to new classes depending on skill. I'm still in 1B. My school started a new 1C class for those that are very close to level 2 and then 1B is next and 1A is for those just starting. My professor has mentioned that I could probably go to 1C, but I've already missed the first week and I think I'll just work as hard as I can to ensure I get to level 2 next quarter. The curriculum for my current class should get to me level 2, but barely I think.

Therefore, I should qualify for the lowest level of level 2, but my goal is to be in the middle level of level 2 so that I have more of an opportunity to reach level three the next quarter. My ideal is to go to a new level by the end of my year here, which may or may not happen. You go tot the class you qualify for and sometimes that means just being placed in a different sub-section of the level you're already in.

Slowly adjusting. Having moments of feeling a little homesick or moments of realization that I will be here a year, which can feel overwhelming and stressful. Having some moments of, 'why am I here again?!" Followed by moments of really not being able to answer that question or totally know why, but to know that being here and doing this is about as good as some other plan I could have cooked up for myself.

So, here it is! It's all just part of the adjusting process though. The questions, the fears, the wondering and waiting... luckily since having done Peace corps and dealing with all of this then, I know how to handle it this time without freaking out...like last time. Overall, I"m enjoying myself and my new life here. I'm excited to see what comes from all of this and hoping for the best!
