Locked in love in Liverpool
This seems to be a local ritual behaviour.
On the chain railings of King's Parade, Liverpool Docks, are lots of padlocks. Most of them are engraved or written on - it seems that couples, when they pledge themselves to each other, or friends and other loving alliances, they make a public display of their affection by locking their names together on a padlock here. Some of the written words are quite poignant, made more so by the early morning rain.
