Front door visitor

It has been raining without stopping today! I'd taken a few photos of my budgie Ozzie and cockatiel Mieke before I left for the sanctuary to walk one of their dogs this afternoon and I was convinced that one of them was going to become my blip. When I got back though, this crane fly was sitting on the wall next to the front door. I didn't want to waste any time trying to take photos with a camera that perhaps could not handle the poor conditions so I quickly ran upstairs to get the DSLR, hoping the crane fly wouldn't fly off in the meantime but fortunately it was still there when I came back downstairs.

This afternoon has not been a particular good one! When I set off to ride to the pet store after the walk with one of the dogs from the sanctuary, I suddenly heard all the air escape out of my rear tyre and in a mere few seconds it was completely deflated! I have no idea what caused the puncture because I couldn't spot anything and I didn't find anything at home later either. Whatever it was, the result was that going to the pet store to pick up a couple of bags of litter for Rosie was out of the question and that I had another walk of 45 minutes in the rain ahead of me to get home.

I'd planned to sit down with a nice mug of hot tea when I got back to the house but because of the puncture I had change the inner tube of my rear wheel instead. I replaced it with one that I'd repaired the last time I had a puncture so hopefully I should be able to ride my bicycle again tomorrow. If not, I'll have to take the tram to the sanctuary and pick up not only the necessary stuff to repair the present puncture because I've run out, but also a new inner tube so that I'll have a spare one for the next time it happens.

The only good thing about today is that, even though my cough has become worse again this evening, it hasn't been as bad during the day as it has been on previous days.

Thanks very much for all the comments and stars on my blip of Rosie from yesterday.
