Baby feathers
The goldfinches have returned to our garden in numbers! Quite a flock of them, in fact, sitting on the cherry tree waiting for their turn at the feeder.
The finch in the middle of this photo is one of this year's babies, and he has not yet grown the bright coloured feathers of his parents.
They are eating a fill-up of niger seed almost in a day! It is quite expensive - but they are so pretty, so it is worth buying perhaps! Best in bulk from the RSPB.
Blue tits, coat tits, sparrows, long tailed tits - also plenty of them around today.
It was quite chilly this afternoon, so I warmed up with an hour's digging in the garden, and felt quite energised afterwards!
And then it poured, so no chance of doing any more!
