My Best Efforts - Year 3

Moored Boats..........

.............on the Norfolk Broads - probably near a waterside Inn! Traditionally the pink distemper - on the house on the left - was mixed with buttermilk and pig's blood and then painted on to the house. The colour varies greatly because the pigments, particularly metal oxides from natural earth, differ greatly. Blackthorn or sloe juice was sometimes added to produce a redder pink. These "pink" houses are seen throughout Norfolk and Suffolk, though there are more of them in Suffolk.
More rain again today but less than yesterday and the sun did come out very briefly.
Am enjoying my trips out and hope to do more.
