Nature's Bounty

The forecast said heavy rain this afternoon, so I thought I'd try to get up onto my patch early as I'd not checked it out for a little while, what with my having been away. I took my big lens. Wrong! the things of greatest interest were the fungi - lots around. I also saw a Red Admiral albeit fleetingly.
I hadn't intended to pick blackberries, but there were so many large, luscious ones by the golf course and I had a plastic bag with me, so I managed over 2.5lb in double quick time. I also found quite a few Bay Boletes which made it into a chicken and mushroom risotto for tea. Bat Boletes are a close relative of the Penny Bun / Cep, and are good eating. They have the big advantage over ceps that grubs don't seem to like them. but I do :-)
The forecast was right. I got home just in time !
