Zebra Cookies
When my Checkerboard Cookies turned stripes instead of squares, I called them Zebra Cookies, and everyone loved them! (Hehe, so sneaky, I know!)
They got the approval of Thai, Australian, and American friends because they aren't too sweet, and they have yummy chocolate/vanilla layers.
Here's the recipe I used if you want to give either Checkerboards or Zebras a try: www.bakingobsession.com/2008/10/21/checkerboard-cookies. For the zebras, after rolling the dough out in rectangles of the same size, place the chocolate dough on top of the vanilla. Cut the rectangle in half, and place one half on top of the other. Repeat one more time so you have a rectangle, layered log. Then refrigerate, slice, and bake as the recipe instructs.
