The Fat woman who went up a Mountain
Ever since we arrived and saw Mt Corrin out of our window, I've wanted to climb it. It's the first thing we see from our bed in the morning and I've also gazed at it longly from the bath tub. Only 284m, hardly a mountain I thought, but it was a stiff climb for all it was short. Wonderful views of the Sheep's Head, the Beara and the Mizen, these long fingers sticking out into the Atlantic, also Fastnet and the Islands. The Professor stayed on the level, but I was not alone, surrounded by grasshoppers, lizards, dragonflies and a late swallow and the glorious scent of the sunlit gorse and heather.
Rewarded myself with an ice cream. So did my driver.
