Left on the doorstep

I came home from an early appointment to get changed for work and found flowers on the doorstep.

I never receive flowers. I was thrilled but curious.

I asked friends online to solve the mystery but no one knew anything. After a quick coffee I wandered down the drive to work (I live in a cottage in the grounds) only to find flowers with similar components in a vase. Mystery solved. Clare the florist was my responsible. I called her to thank her for her kind gesture (I still didn't know why she would be giving me flowers) and she explained that they were a treat for me as I always take time to stop and chat, take an interest in her kids and I gave her a bottle of elderflower cordial once ages ago.

The whole thing has made me smile and feel warm inside. Just shows how a little consideration doesn't go unnoticed.
