World of Twist

I took Dad for a drive today to the bank to start sorting out his finances. His fear of the modern world of online banking was not helped in any way when the national computer system for Halifax Bank crashed and so we could not get access to all of his savings.

I had to reschedule another meeting with the branch manager for tomorrow.

On the plus side, next door to the Halifax is a pub that opens at 7am. Not that we went in but it is the building that Mum worked in when Dad first met her and they started "courting". It used to be called Twists Wholesale back then and supplied furniture and other things to all of the holiday camps around the UK. Not many holiday camps left these days so no need for a wholesaler - have an all day cheap boozer instead.
