Hopeful
Another great day on Hope.
In the first half hour a fish took my fly. It waggled its head which made me think it was a decent fish and then took off like a steam train. The line flashed through my fingers so fast that it burnt my skin.
It then started running back towards me and I struggled to keep in touch by hand-lining line back in. By the time it started on its second big run, the line had formed a loop in the reel and jammed. The line snapped like a thread and my dream fish escaped. Swim free big monster of the deep.
Flat calm at the end of the day made things beautiful, but impossible for fishing. (and midgey hell when mooring up for the night)
(Blip 700 - some consolation for my lost fish!)
