Clouds.. a Pirate Ship & the Art of Processing
...To go with ArtistAnnie's eye Patch.
I seem to be spending more and more time on my blips these days...which does not leave me much time for other things....however it gives me great joy to fiddle with images.....to make them beautiful (as far as I am concerned).....and that is after I have traveled to get it....I dont seem to have a social life anymore.
I have noticed that there is such a fine line with processing...........sometimes I like to push the edge...to give a fantasy or surreal feel .....but where is that line when it can become over processed and tacky? It is a constant vigilance and I know I have crossed it many a time and sometimes I get so carried away I don't actually see it.
Oh well I am sure you will all let me know......if I start loosing my marbles and going to far.
Here is a rather longish poem from Rumi (not the dog) for those that enjoy as I do.
The Seed Market
Can you find another market like this?
Where,
with your one rose
you can buy hundreds of rose gardens?
Where,
for one seed
get a whole wilderness?
For one weak breath,
a divine wind?
You've been fearful
of being absorbed in the ground,
or drawn up by the air.
Now, your waterbead lets go
and drops into the ocean,
where it came from.
It no longer has the form it had,
but it's still water
The essence is the same.
This giving up is not a repenting.
It's a deep honoring of yourself.
When the ocean comes to you as a lover,
marry at once, quickly,
for God's sake!
Don't postpone it!
Existence has no better gift.
No amount of searching
will find this.
A perfect falcon, for no reason
has landed on your shoulder,
and become yours.
