Destruction Day 2
Well guess what? The hedge is all gone. The builder saved what he could, but you can see what we are left with. We have a rose shrub (which I've had to severely prune back from some 40ft to just 3ft, because it has no frame to grow up anymore), and we have our Himalayan Honeysuckle. In addition to this, we do have some ivy and some young cottoneaster horizontalis plants less than knee high. Give it ten years, and it might be back to what it was at the beginning of the week.
We are trying to console ourselves with the fact that a fence (similar to the one in the background), will be erected soon, and then we will get our privacy back, but it will be many many years before the hedge looks like it used to.
