Renewing

Phoned the AA tonight to cancel my cover. A renewal quote of £61 (compared to the RAC's £28 new customer rate) pushed me into it.

The man checked with his manager and came back with a new price of £34. How they managed this miraculous saving (and why they didn't apply it to my original renewal) did occur to me, but I just told him it was still more expensive. His response - ah, but that's an offer price from the RAC, and we review prices all the time, so the RAC might not be cheaper next year.

I couldn't see the logic and told him I'd take a chance... I like to live on the edge like that.
