What are the odds?

What are the odds of all 6 eggs from a single half dozen box being double yolkers?

Well it happened this evening. I decided to make an omelette with left over bits from the fridge (potatoes, fresh spinach and tomatoes from the garden) and the first egg I cracked had two yolks.

So far, not that interesting you might say, but then the second had two yolks too. OK not bad. Then the third, what? I was going to stop at this point... but my curiosity got the better of me. So I kept going, all in the knowledge that this had the potential to turn in one gigantic omelette by the time I finished!

Then the forth, and the fifth, OK now you’ve got my attention? At this point I decided to crack the last one directly into a frying pan rather than the mixing bowl in the hope that it might also be a double yolker so that I could photograph it. And sure enough…

… what ARE the odds?
