Kilns

Afternoon all,

We went a wandering today.....well....I did...and the Mutt. Mamma G sat in the car. Wise woman.......we went along to Limekilns so called due to the big kilns that were there. This shot is the tunnel connecting along the back of all the kilns, imagine the heat here as they burned 24/7......took two weeks for the lime to burn down to the bottom......a skilled labourer got 20p a day for a 12 hour shift, and they considered themselves lucky !!!

Went along the 'beach' along a bit from there..........no sand........mud......as I discovered as I ran along with the Mutt only to hit a bad bit and kept running with no shoes......they were back stuck in the mud !!! Shoes retrieved.......the debate is starting on who and where they should be washed.......8"'s of mud still to be removed beforehand lol !!!

I did get a lovely shot of of this sea anemone !!! ........never seen one here before.....so cool !!! ;0)

Off to scrub the Mutt.......her paws may never be the same again !!!!! ;0)
