End of an era for me

A very self opinionated Parish Council, not all the members just a certain few have not been particularly helpful in a recent matter which some of us consider to be a health hazard to our village.
For whatever reason they made me feel very uncomfortable at a recent meeting and suffice to say I have sadly resigned after a lot of thought.
Sometimes people can be very blinkered especially when it's only a small number of people being effected by an issue.
I feel very let down that they could not see the bigger picture, I'm talking about a green waste recycling centre that is far too close to a few homes up here and by today's legislation would NEVER be allowed here.
I spoke to the Leader of the only scientific investigation for the whole of Europe re. These sights who made it quite clear there was a lot of research to be done as its only recently they are beginning to see links to the bio aerosols and the detrimental effects on people's health.
Suffice to say some of my fellow councillors said it didn't effect them so they weren't interested!!
So much for democracy.
