The two bears

There once were two bears who were lovingly knitted for twin babies by their great grandmother. Both bears started out looking the same. One baby took a liking to his bear and it became 'favourite bear'. The other baby was not so besotted with his bear. As the years went by favourite bear was very much loved and went on many adventures. He had been left behind in several places including a Rocket ship ride in a shopping centre, and in the front of a paint shop (there happened to be a fire in the back of that shop the night favourite bear stayed over, but fortunately he was safe). We were always able to retrieve him. He underwent many many many repairs and restorations. The biggest repair and restoration was when our German Shepherd puppy had gotten hold of him. Favourite bear was found some time later in the back yard with his back ripped out (It was then we figured out the puppy had stolen him and had a bit of a play). For some time favourite bear existed with a couple of knitting needles holding the stiches until I had the time to repair him. He has been much loved over the years and now has time to rest as his teenage owner has moved on. It has been lovely to see that a simple hand made gift has been so very loved. If you hadn't already guessed, favourite bear is the one on the right.
